Shelterwood

Sheri Nelson came to Shelterwood in 1999 with a rich background of experience in helping professions.  With a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Baylor University and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and Biblical Counseling at Colorado Christian University, Sheri’s experience spans across several populations: at-risk teens, families, handicapped children and adults, adoption counseling with birthparents and prospective adoptive parents, as well as adult education with career counseling.  Sheri also provided counseling oversight to the correspondence department of Promise Keepers.  In addition to her counseling experience, Sheri has worked with teens through Young Life, The Sky’s The Limit, and church youth programs.  Sheri says, “I enjoy helping teens awaken to the beauty God has created in them and the purpose he invites them to.  I love working at Doulos because I can help provide hope to those who are in crisis, to those finding themselves in places of trial they had never foreseen.  I like having the opportunity to encourage teens and their families in the journey of perseverance and faith.”
