Counselor
Believing a calling to assist hurting families, Ryan Frederick joined Shelterwood as a Staff Counselor. Ryan has experience working with teenagers and families in local church ministry and in non-profit, mental health. Before joining Shelterwood, Ryan worked in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, assisting families in crisis. He was trained in Multi-Systemic Therapy, a unique theory that addresses teenagers from the most influential systems that influence their behavior, and used this approach to work with families whose teenagers were in the juvenile justice system. Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oklahoma Baptist University and holds a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Masters degree in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
