Shelterwood

Joey has been with Shelterwood almost as long as founder Richard Beach. Since 1983, he has served in a variety of roles, including Staff Counselor and Director. Joey is an ordained minister, as well as Licensed Professional Counselor and Professional Family Counselor. Joey was born in Weisbaden, Germany, and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated with his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Baylor University where he played soccer. He taught soccer at Kanakuk Camps during those college years. After meeting his wife at Camp, they eventually moved to the Ozarks, helping direct K-West for several years. Joey says his greatest joy in life is his family. Jeanie and Joey have been married for 26 years and have two children: Elizabeth and Eric. His current role as Executive Director positions him to be an encourager to the Leadership team, keeping the ministry thriving and God’s work progressing. He shares, “I love what I do! God has called me to this place for this time. It pushes all my buttons of discipleship and family healing. Shelterwood is just a small piece in God’s big puzzle of putting the family together again. God is doing great work through the Shelterwood ministry”.
