Shelterwood

Joani arrived on the Shelterwood scene in 2007 with several years of experience working with individuals and families in crisis. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Evangel University in psychology and biblical studies, she worked with youth in residential care and then transitioned to case management support with adults. Encouraged that her calling was working with families, Joani decided to further her education by receiving her masters in counseling from Saint Louis University. Her experience lead her to work with teens in the judicial system, which eased her into the transition of working at Shelterwood as a staff counselor. She shares, "Working with Doulos has been amazing! I love what I get to do each day and how I get to see the Lord’s hand provide for families and teens. What a privilege to be part of a dedicated team." In the spring of 2010 she will marry a former guys house director, Tim Whitley.
